I didn't wait for permission. I found an open source project and tested it.
🎯 What I Did
Kaneo is an open-source project management tool (think Linear alternative). I set up the full stack locally with Docker and systematically broke it.
- Ran the complete Docker environment locally
- Tested auth flows, project creation, task management
- Found 47 bugs across critical user paths
- Documented everything with steps to reproduce
- Organized reports by severity in their issue tracker
Why this matters: I didn't learn testing from a course. I learned it by actually doing the work on real, complex software.
